Asbestos Removal Process
How does Hamilton Paint & Plaster safely remove asbestos?
- Plan the removal, provide an Asbestos Removal Control Plan and associated paperwork.
- Notify WorkSafe NZ of the planned removal.
- A containment area is set up where asbestos is to be removed.
- Workers enter with the correct personal protective equipment.
- Asbestos is dampened to reduce dust, and then stripped off.
- All asbestos is safely captured, bagged/sealed, removed and disposed of at an approved landfill.
- Building/site is air tested/swabbed by an independent monitoring company to provide a clearance certificate.
- Containment area is dismantled and any necessary finishing work is completed.
- Site is cleaned and tidied.
